Ionian – 14 days trip

The Ionians are a perfect choice for those looking for equal parts chilling, partying, and sailing all rolled together into one, exciting Greek adventure. With a storied past, the Ionian islands are rich with history, myth, and diverse cultural influences from the many hands they passed through including the Venetians, British, and the French. Each island has a cultural flavour of its own. With smaller towns and more secluded bays along the route, it’s a great opportunity to explore the Greek culture in an intimate setting.

Itinerary

Day 1 Lefkas

Considered as the Caribbean of Greece, Lefkada Island amazes visitors with the exotic blue colour of its beaches. Glorious beaches, sophisticated capital and easy accessibility (the “island” is in fact linked to the Greek mainland via a small bridge). Kathisma, Egremni, Porto Katsiki have won international acclaim and are awarded annually with Blue Flags (symbolizing cleanliness and quality). Immerse yourself in Lefkada magical world.

Day 2 Meganisi – Port Spilia

Meganisi is located opposite to Skorpios, the private island of the Onassis Family. With it’s virgin beaches and the mysterious caves,  Meganisi is a unique destination for all those who seek tranquility in the Greek nature. Meganissi has always been known as the island of sailors. The first name of the island was Tafos. It was named after the son of Ippothoes – daughter of lefkadios Lelegas –and of God Poseidon.

Day 3 Kefalonia – Fiskardo

Captain Corelli’s paradise lost: beautiful beaches, delightful ports, a national park and locals always ready for a laugh. The largest of the Ionian islands, with its sparkling azure waters, dazzling beaches and dark green mountains, has been a popular holiday spot for decades. The island was chosen for filming the Hollywood movie Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. Endless private beaches and bays of exceptional beauty, such as Myrto and Makri Gialos. Fiscardo is the most cosmopolitan place with a port that receives many yachts every summer.

Day 4 Ithaki – Kioni

“Keep Ithaca always in your mind. Arriving there is what you are destined for” wrote the great Greek poet Constantinos Cavafy. Ithaca is a magical island, full of history and beautiful beaches. This peaceful island is formed by two large peninsulas connected by a narrow isthmus and dotted with huge cliffs, steep mountains and extensive olive grove. It is an island for lovers of reflection and tranquility, for travellers excited by discovery, and most of all… for those in search of their own private Ithaca.

Day 5 Ithaki – Atokos

Atokos is a small island off the coast of Acarnania. It’s a privately owned island of the Tsakos Family. With virgin beaches with turquoise waters, this little hidden gem has several bays ideal for yachts and it’s definitely worth a visit.

Day 6 Kastos

The small Greek island of Kastós lies 10 miles SE of the island of Lefkas. Apart from yachtsmen, the village has few other visitors. The primary attraction of Kastos is the beaches down its eastern side, which are perfect for anchoring, swimming and lunching. There is little else to do in Kastos except chill out under the Greek sun with a drink in hand.

Day 7 Kalamos

The tiny village and harbour of Episkopi are a charming insight into rural Greek island living. Open bays, white sand, bright trees all around, the landscape  of calamos is truly magic.

Navagio, an undoubtedly postcard perfect beach of the Ionian Sea, and one of the most famous and most photographed beaches in Europe.
